Waste not, want not…

Salisbury MP Robert Key will recycle an old message when he delivers the keynote speech to a local conference at Tidworth tomorrow, Friday November 26th, 2004.

Opening the Wiltshire County Council conference on local recycling, Robert will say that households in Wiltshire are pushing environmental issues up the political agenda and that good waste management is top of that list.

Congratulating the District Councils on waste collection and Wiltshire County Council on waste disposal, Robert Key will say," Locally we are doing well and we are ahead of the national game. My message is that local people are ready for you to do more. We all know we have to clean up our act and clean up our countryside. Time, effort and investment are needed to research and implement recycling strategies that will really make a difference, locally, nationally and internationally".

Robert said to Wiltshire local Councils, "Please make recycling simpler - and include plastics. Taxpayers will thank you for it in the long run".
