Shadow Minister for Science

New Job For Robert Key MP

The Leader of the Opposition has appointed Salisbury MP Robert Key as Shadow Minister for Science. This is a new post, covering science issues in both the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Robert Key said, “I am delighted to be back on the Front Bench assisting both Shadow Teams with science issues. The future is science – and we need a fresh approach to the great controversies of the day. I will work for a more open, better informed, evidence-based debate in Parliament and the country. My role will be to listen, to learn, to inform and to advise the Conservative Front Bench”.
