Community Radio Interviews Local MP

Local MP, Robert Key will be giving community radio station, Radio Bemerton, an insight into the world of politics when he pays them a visit on Friday 9th July 2004.

Volunteer DJ’s and staff will be on hand to provide Robert with a whistle stop tour of their studios in return for an ‘exclusive’ interview.

The community run station, which was launched on Monday 14th June, will come to an end on Sunday 11th July. Project Manager, Rob Maybury said, “Mr Key's visit to the station is very welcome indeed. As Radio Bemerton's primary objective is to provide an information service to our community, it is imperative that our listeners are kept informed of the work of our local MP. Mr Key is already addressing a number of issues which relate directly to our community. His visit to the station will enable Mr Key to update our listeners on progress and will further highlight the work of our local representative in Parliament”.

Robert said, “Radio Bemerton has done us proud. It has been an important trial - and it has worked. Community Radio really helps people come together - it gives them a voice, let's them be heard. So - a big thank you to Radio Bemerton. Please can we have some more?”

You are invited to join Local MP, Robert Key at Radio Bemerton on Friday 9th July at 14:00. Robert will be at the station for about an hour.
