Your Chance to Tell Parliament

Robert Key MP asks the people of Salisbury to help shape the future of Parliament.

Robert Key MP today invited Salisbury residents to get involved in a consultation that will make suggestions on how Parliament can better connect with the public. The consultation, run as part of the Tell Parliament project, will be run online, and will cover issues such as how Parliament could better reflect public concerns, and how Parliament could be made more accessible to citizens.

The comments made will be fed directly to an influential cross-party group of MPs who are carrying out an investigation called Connecting Parliament with the Public.

Robert Key said, “The issues being discussed in this consultation are really important to democracy - access, communication, and understanding of Parliament. I really hope that people in South Wiltshire will join in the discussion – it is your Parliament, so make sure you have your say.”

The online consultation is being run by the independent Hansard Society, and will last for four weeks from 1st March 2004. Useful background information on the issues for consideration will be available on the website. To access the consultation go to www.tellparliament.net/modernisation
