return to the homepage

Salisbury's MP Robert Key has been told in answer to a Parliamentary Question that the Government has agreed to the closure of the Travel Centre at Salisbury Railway Station.

Transport Minister Tom Harris (Lab., Glasgow South) told Robert that he had approved 'this minor modification' on 25th February.

Robert Key said, 'I deplore this decision which was made against the wishes and interests of travellers and in the face of representations I made personally to the Chief Executive of South West Trains as well as to the Minister'

'I urge rail users to join me in monitoring the situation closely. We should not put up with declining services when fares are rising rapidly'
