My colleague Desmond Swayne has very kindly taken up the cudgels on behalf of the communities either side of the county boundary at Downton.

I enclose a letter he has received from the Deputy Director of Environment at Hampshire County Council, dated 15th October 2004, about heavy commercial vehicle traffic on the B3080.

I wonder if you are able to explain in what way Hampshire County Council "will liaise with Wiltshire County Council as to the way forward"?

In any event, I would be very grateful if you would keep a close eye on this very important issue.
