Boscombe Down Airfield

I enclose a letter I wrote to the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Defence on 19 March about the future of Boscombe Down Airfield, and a copy of his reply dated 7th April 2004.

I remain concerned that potential commercial and housing developments around Boscombe Down could have an adverse impact on the future of that important source of employment.

I stand ready, as the Minister suggests, to work with Salisbury District Council to resist any intensification of development that would impact on the future use of the airfield by the Ministry of Defence.
